I've decided not to do a monthly update on our sweet girl anymore since she turned 2. Instead I will do a post at 2 & 1/2. She has been developing so much lately though that I just want to document some of the phrases/stuff Blakely has been doing and saying lately. This is really only for our memory so you might want to stop reading as I'm sure it will be pretty boring! =) We sure are feeling the terrible twos at this point but shortly after a tantrum she makes us laugh harder than we have in such a long time! So here we go:
Phrases I hear on a regular basis (every 30 min or so)
"oh no"
"no way"
"I like that"
"ok"
"I watch it"
"smells good" (this one is usually when she is putting something in her mouth that shouldn't be there & I catch her. When I get on to her she acts like she was just smelling it-uh huh, I'm on to you Blakely!)
"pick it up" (as in her, pick her up)
"pleeeeeeeeeease!"
"i find it"
"I find you"
"peek a boo"
"raffe right here"
"Mommas commin" (as in come here momma)
"Blakely cute" along with "zizi cute" "raffe cute", everyone has been 'cute' at some point in time!
"goodness"
One quick side note story: we continue to have an extremely difficult eater & dinner is by far the worst meal. This week we were eating at the table and B wanted down almost immediately-screaming, tears, the works...I was very firm in explaining to her that she was going to at least sit with us until we finished eating. She then started saying 'daddy save it, pick it up, pick it up, daaaaaaaady'. Guess we know who the push over is......
She requests the following songs on a very regular basis:
'the day' (this is the day that the Lord has made)
'abc'
'sunshine' (you are my sunshine)
'name oh' (b-i-n-g-o)
Our bedtime routine has started looking like this:
-we get our bubble bath & play for around 30 minutes
-brush our teeth twice at least (small obsession with her & I'm not complaining!)
-pick out our jammies (she is EXTREMELY picky about which one she wants to wear) typically we HAVE to wear the 'monkey shirt & pants' but sometimes she will settle with 'hello kitty' or 'elmo'
-after we are finally dressed we have to dry her hair (something that she absolutely dislikes)
-story time has gone from 2 books to about 10 requests. I think it's safe to say that it is never enough when it comes to bedtime reading & I almost always have to shut the door on her screaming at me!
Other things:
-playing on the ipad. She can maneuver her way around great!
-counts to 15 with about 3 broken numbers. She only does this when she is doing something by herself. If you ask her to do it she will not even say 1...I've tried to catch it on video but somehow she always sees me.
-she loves letters and will pick one up and guess what she is holding (almost always she thinks it is Q or B but she is never right)
Alright that's it.
