A good start!

We are off to a good start this year! I am learning to be more positive. Each day I wake up and acknowledge the simple blessings-I literally write down all things that I am thankful for on that morning. It forces me to realize how blessed I am without dwelling on the things that are hard or make my heart hurt.

It's the simple things that bring the most joy. Like here, Pascal (below) as Blakely named him. He was outside our front door last week. Never would have seen one of these at the townhouse.  We had fun stalking him all day!

And our back deck, oh how I LOVE this place! Mimi has a screened in porch & I've been telling Clint for years "If I only had one of these, I would be in heaven"  Well not only do I have one now, I also have a beautiful view!
Parker, he brings me so much joy & peace. Even when he is crying at 4:30 in the am...(well that's a lie, he doesn't bring me peace then...) He is so innocent. He hasn't started all the whininess that comes along with a 2+ year old, he doesn't defy you, he just loves. Loves life, loves eating, loves playing, loves talking, loves me...He just loves!
These two bring me pure joy also! Yes, they are needy (BOTH of them) and yes, they are crazy hard to take care of sometimes, but they are my heart in every way possible.

I did not pose this picture. I walked in to this...
It brought tears to my eyes-literally! I love them so much!

This also brought tears to my eyes-my little boy is drinking out of a sippy all by himself!
Here we have Raffe "as a turtle". I thought this was very cleaver and imaginative & was really proud of her! Plus I thought it was too cute not to document.
The best shot I could get of Blakely wearing her 'favorite' dress. Nikky gave her this for Christmas & ever since she has wanted to wear it every day!
This has become an every day activity around the new house...a "fork".

Snow Day

Last Thursday we had a snow day! It started while Blakely was in school and by the time it was time to pick her up, the ground was covered! She was so excited! We watched it fall out her window for an hour, she took her nap, and then before dinner we all went out to play! I can't get over actually having a yard to play in! SO exciting!
**side note** if you noticed the crocks-I'm not a terrible mom, I promise. This child HATES socks, shoes, leggings, sleeves AND jackets...I forced her into all of the proceeding except obviously the socks and boots-to prove a point. You will see in the next pic that she soon gave in to wearing her socks & boots.

 Zizi chasing everyone...
building a snowman-that Zizi ate and destroyed before we could even get a layer done.
feeding Zizi a snowball!

going crazy excited in the snow! This pup LOVES the snow!
all that fun wore us out! ha

Settling in...

Well, we are finally all unpacked and this place is really starting to feel like home!
I have been meaning to take pictures throughout the house but have yet to accomplish that! I absolutely LOVE our new place and am SO thankful to have the whole 'home buying' process in my past! That was waaaay to stressful for me.

Just for documentation purposes I thought I would mention that my entire family got the stomach flu the day after Christmas-mom, dad, allison, jay, elle, and gray. Blakely got it 3 days later and then I got it the day we closed on our house! (about 3 hours after to be exact) SO packing was left undone and I was of no help in the move!

Blakely has been slow to warm up to the idea of losing 'her house'. She 'don't like the new house!" Every day I think we are finally getting better and then at some point she will tell me that...I'm sure as soon as she can play outside in an actual yard she will be fine =)

Parker has been a terrible sleeper since the move. He has woken up throughout each night at a minimum of 4 times during the night and wakes up every morning around 5.........not sure what is going on here but I have tried everything! I read online that some babies have sleep regression around 9 months so I guess that is the culprit. I'm ready to get some sleep though and I'm sure he is too!

All in all we are SUPER excited to be here and deeply soaking in our huge yard and beautiful screened in porch!

Dentist Visit #2

This girl LOVES the dentist. It amazes me to see her interact with other adults...she is just so grown up!
She was super proud when they told her that she had great teeth.

All I have been hearing for the past 3 days is "Mommy, I need to go to the dentist" I will ask why and she tells me that her teeth are hurting...hmmm
