i love my daddy!

What a Daddy's girl. This picture was not staged. I turned around from my computer only to see our sweet girl soaking in her time with Daddy!

3 days until my little angel turns ONE!

yes, we're still alive...

I just realized today that it has been almost a month since I last posted. We have had a CRAZY May this year...Clint came down with Meningitis which totally overwhelmed us all. All I have ever heard growing up from my parents is how dangerous Meningitis is. (They had a neighbor die from the bacterial form) Anyways, I totally freaked when Clint's temp spiked to 105.6 yes, 105.6! I didn't even know a human could have a temp that high. I called the dr. and was told to calmly drive my husband to the ER. They also threw in that I should quickly do this as his fever could cause him to slip into a coma and never wake up...I can honestly say that I have never been that scared. I was balling the entire way to the hospital. So Blakely, Clint & I finally got back to see the doctor & after 6 hours and about a million tests found out that his condition was in fact meningitis. They seem to believe that he got this horrible thing from all the visits to the devastation due to the tornados that came through. There were many cases of first responders ending up in the hospital with respiratory issues due to the air around the devastation.

...but 2 weeks later and lots of meds and sleep later, Clint is back to normal. THANK YOU GOD! Neither me nor Blakely got this horrible thing & everybody is happy.

I have learned something about myself that I never really knew before this whole incident. I take on tons of projects when I am faced with stressful situations. I guess it is some defense mechanism in how I deal with stress. Last year when I was super pregnant, working full time, Clint didn't have a job & we had no money I started my little 3 businesses on etsy and selling around town. Now looking back, I have absolutely no idea how or why I tried to take on so much. This month I decided to remodel our entire home. I have painted our office, den, kitchen & bedroom. Oh and the backyard, I fixed our backyard!!! Don't worry pictures are to soon follow I just haven't gotten our camera out yet. It is crazy what some paint will do! The more I changed the more I realized just how much I hated the stuff on our walls & the furniture. Well, the furniture will have to stay for quite sometime since we do not have a money tree growing in that newly created backyard, but the other stuff like paint and wall decor-bring it on! Of course, working on a tight budget makes it challenging.

On a different note, my sweet little B turns ONE in one week from yesterday! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I am so proud of her! On Monday she took her official first step. It was only one mind you, but a step nonetheless. She is so strong. She holds herself standing for at least 30 seconds at a time. She is literally into EVERYTHING these days. She is so much fun though. I plan on going somewhere Sunday to get some really good shots of her.

11 Months Old!

I'm not sure why she insists on keeping her arms straight out every time I try and get her picture, but that is precisely what she does! Blakely has grown up so much this month. Every single month amazes me, but this one was really big! She is now constantly calling 'Mama', 'Daddy', and 'Zizi'. Just yesterday she opened the office door and called for 'daddy' with a question tone in her voice. She is so smart. I have also heard her say 'hi zizi' about 3 times in the past week. She loves to move-no doubt about that. This little girl is ALWAYS on the go. If you have a magazine, book, notebook or any other form of paper-it will get torn up and eaten if she can get her hands on it. She loves our cell phones, her sippy cup and zizi. I have caught her being very mischievous with zizi lately. She loves feeding zizi & zizi loves eating whatever she has...I don't love either.

She loves peek-a-boo, her lovie, her giraffe 'raffe', books, BATH BATH time, "click-clicking" her tongue to make funny noises. She is literally running with dino lately and anywhere she can keep one hand balancing her. Last week she stood up on her own & when she realized she wasn't holding onto anything she panicked and dropped to her booty. She is plenty strong to walk on her own and I'm pretty sure the balance is there-just a matter of time now! She has 4 teeth now. (The top left front and the one beside it and the two bottom center) The other top tooth on the right is SO close to breaking through!

Although our house is child-proofed I am finding so many things that are not. It amazes me what all she finds to get in to...she is just so fast. I've heard from so many people that as soon as they start crawling-it's all over. Boy were they right. She is literally a full time job these days.

& now for the stats:
Weight- My scale still isn't working....I'm thinking 22 pounds???
Length-Will measure and get back to you...
Diaper size-3
Mo. Clothes- 18-24 months (even the clothes I've been sewing have been 18 mo.)
Shoe Size-3
Naps/Sleeping-1 hour in the AM, 1 hour in the afternoon & 1-2 hours in the late afternoon, 7 PM bedtime
Eating-4, 8oz bottles every 4 hours & Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner.
She likes grits, oatmeal, toast or pancakes, ANY fruits & pretty much any veggies
She loves cheese, yogurt, puffs, yogurt melts

I guess that's it for today!

Easter

We had such a great Easter this year. Blakely is feeling great these days (yay!!!) so she really enjoyed her day, which made it really good for all of us! =) The Easter Bunny came for a visit last night and brought both Zizi and Blakely some fun goodies! Blakely was more interested in her $.50 plastic eggs than anything else... We then went to Church where she did excellent playing with everyone. After church and lunch, while Blakely took her afternoon siesta, Clint and I dyed Easter eggs! (obviously my idea and persuasion!)-but we had a good time. Then after Blakely woke up we went on our way to the Lyle's for some more goodie baskets and time!

Here are pictures from today!

Feeling better!

CHEEESE!

Taking each and every diaper out of the basket & handing them to me one by one.

We are finally getting over a bad cold/teething deal going on. Blakely started feeling yucky on Friday night and by Saturday morning it was on. This is the worst she has felt since birth I'm afraid. I have spotted 4 new teeth in this process so I am assuming the runny nose & high fever are a result to that. I however, also have a really terrible sore throat & have had this for a few days so who really knows...All I know is that I am so happy to see her feeling better! Nobody likes a sick baby! Maybe with some sleep I'll get to feeling better too! =)

We have been LOVING this beautiful weather. Blakely loves her wagon rides around our neighborhood. It seems to be the only thing to settle her crying during the day.
