Planner. For anyone who knows me at all, it might be the one adjective that describes me most accurately. Planner. Yes, I thrive in predictiblity. I plan dinners, outings, chores…The word impromptu even makes me a little anxious! HA! SO, lately I have had quite a few encounters via bible studies where I've come to realize that what I excused as my type A personality, is more likely a product of an idol in my life. Idol Addiction is the title of my current bible study, which is where I first became aware that I even had a problem. I have randomly read over 5 other articles/devotions on which God really wants our minds to stay put in the day at hand and be ready for whatever HE has planned.
Today rocked my world. This day is definitely not what I had planned. I did not get any pictures in the midst of the beginning of our chaos, as I was in survival mode…Let me just begin with a little story of our day!
8:55 drop Blakely off at school
9:10 arrive at Target to do a little shopping with Parker man
9:50 decide (stupidly) to drive off to do another errand across town……
10:15-1:45 stuck on hwy 31 creeping along praying through over 7 near car crashes. Parker screamed the.whole.time. He was STARVING and tired.
1:45 I finally made it to Vestavian Way where Dad had walked from home to find me…seriously best dad award goes to him. hands down. SO, then he took over the driving for a bit. THANK GOD! I was crying hysterically and in the downside of a pretty severe panic attack.
Sometime afterwards we bundled Parker up and walked to pick Blakely and her friend Elizabeth up from school. Dad took along his sled and we made some fun out of some pretty serious yuckiness!
Finally, started shooting some pictures!
In the meantime, Clint was walking home after parking his car somewhere along the on ramp of I65. He walked all the way home…I have never been so happy to see someone in all my life!
After some naps and warming up we got out and played a bit!
We attempted a snowman, but the snow was straight up powder. Mr. Frosty will just have to come to life some other day!
We watched a movie, ate a pancake dinner and got ready for our FIRST sleepover! The girls were ecstatic!
tucking them in...
A princess bedtime story-by request included Sophia, Little Mermaid, and Snow White. Silly girls kept adding stuff as I would tell the story.
Smile for your first ever sleep over!
and a prayer for sweet dreams!
I listened as they talked among themselves. Some of the most hilarious conversation I've ever heard. Blakely was getting upset with E for closing her eyes and then E would get upset with B for closing her eyes. "1 2 3 ok lets close them together. no no lets tell a story. I know! Lets just sleep and then play in the snow. Look outside and see if it is still there!!! Lets see if Mommy would let us go for just one intsey more minutes and play! We never did make that snowman, lets do that. Noooo silly Blakely the snow was too powdery remember! Oh yeah, ok well maybe tomorrow. yeah, maybe tomorrow!"…..and it didn't end there! After about 10 minutes, they were OUT!
Cutest best buds! SO glad B has found such a wonderful friend!
All in all, I am exhausted! Let's pray for a calmer, less eventful tomorrow!
